A riddle

Question: What's black on the bottom and is always on the go?

Answer: Gillian Grace's feet!

I've often said that Sweet Bean is a tom-boy girly-girl. And though it sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, it couldn't be more true!

Dirty hands and dirty toes
All while wearing smocking and bows
Complete with a smile that glows!

Treasures

While over at Gee-Gee and Pop's for a visit last Thursday, Gee-Gee pulled box after box of "treasures," mostly costume jewelry from my Mama Helen, from her dresser drawers. From Sweet Bean's reaction, you'd have thought these tiny trinkets were made of pure gold and expensive sparkly gemstones! Each jewelry box was better than the one before, eliciting all sorts of funny expressions from GG! My favorite, and one that always turns over my tickler, is when an ecstatic Gillian Grace exclaimed, "Oh buddies!" at the sight of more jewels.

With each piece of jewelry taken from the box, another story of Mama was shared. Though Sweet Bean will never have the opportunity to meet Mama here on this Earth, she will surely know of her great grandmother's adventurous spirit and, of course, keen fashion sense.  And I'm quite sure that Mama Helen was smiling down, proud to see that her treasures were once again being admired and adored!

So here's to grandparents---truly some of life's most precious gems!

Hey, good lookin'...

Whatcha got cookin'?

Last week Gillian Grace lent me a hand in the kitchen, helping me to whip up a few batches of chocolate chip cookies for Daddy. Sweet Bean's favorite part of the job---why, dropping in the chocolate chips morsels, of course! And, as most top chefs do, it didn't take long before GG was sampling her work, often depositing a chocolate chip in her mouth before making sure one landed in the bowl!
